The Tahoma Vista Shopping Center was originally developed as a Kmart in 1968 and continues to be a shopping hub for the surrounding community. Big Lots expanded and relocated into half of the Kmart space. Grocery Outlet opened early 2019, offering the community reasonably-priced, daily-needs staples. The remainder of the Kmart was leased to Urban Air Adventure Park to open a brand new indoor entertainment center for the community.
Tahoma Vista is located on one of busiest arterial streets in Southeast Tacoma, Vista is in close proximity to Puyallup, the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Center and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It also receives traffic from the adjoining retail strip center (NAP) and the Safeway grocery store across Portland Avenue. The center is located in the heart of a re-emerging market with lots of new development happening in the neighborhood.
